Mathematics Department Chair Arthur Ogus writes, "On the basis of my years in this department, I can attest to the extent to which Mary deserves this award and to the enormous improvements she has brought to our department. I especially want to commend her success at community building. In my view her award reflects positively on our whole community, and the whole staff deserves to be proud of her achievement."
