Position Title: Morrey Visiting Assistant Professor

Position Description

The Department of Mathematics at the University of California invites applications for a pool of qualified non-tenure track lecturers to teach a range of mathematics courses.

Teaching Responsibilities: We are seeking outstanding lecturers capable of teaching one or more courses in the undergraduate mathematics curriculum. Courses will be assigned on an as-needed basis. Willingness to work within the established UC Berkeley Mathematics curriculum and uphold the department’s teaching standards is required.

General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), maintaining a course website, and using a learning management system (e.g., bCourses at UC Berkeley, Canvas, etc.). For large-lecture assignments, the ability to manage large classes effectively and supervise discussion sections and graduate student instructors is essential.
