Yelena Mandelshtam

About

I am a fourth year graduate student in the mathematics department at UC Berkeley. My advisor is Bernd Sturmfels. I graduated with a B.S. in mathematics with honors and a minor in computer science from Stanford University in 2019. My honors thesis advisor was Andras Vasy. During the summers of 2020 and 2021 I was an advisor at the University of Minnesota Duluth Mathematics REU program. During the Spring 2023 semester, I will be in Leipzig, Germany visiting the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences.

I am grateful for the support of an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and a department fellowship funded by the Straus Graduate Student Support Fund.
