**Syllabus:** This will be an introduction to algebraic geometry in the language of schemes.

- Sheaves (FOAG, Chapter 2).
- Affine schemes (FOAG, Chapter 3).
- Schemes (FOAG, Chapter 4).
- Properties of schemes (FOAG, Chapter 5).
- Morphisms of schemes (FOAG, Chapter 6 and some of Chapters 7-9).
- Varieties (FOAG, Chapter 10).
- Dimension, smoothness (FOAG, some of Chapters 11-12).

**Evaluation:**
There will be a weekly quiz but no exams.
