Introduction to Algebraic Statistics
(MPI Leipzig, TU Berlin, UC Berkeley)
Time: Friday, May 25 at 9:00h until

This intense weekend course is held in cooperation with
BMS Berlin and
It is aimed at advanced students,
and postdocs from the mathematical sciences.
Everyone is welcome.
Students wishing to
receive credit (Schein) should enroll through TU Berlin.
Antje Schulz (TU Berlin):
for everyone who is based in Berlin
(MPI Leipzig): for everyone from outside Berlin
Mathematical maturity of an advanced graduate student. Interest in statistics.
Willingness to work hard on a weekend, especially when it comes to
teamwork and computing.
Logistics: The morning lectures will take place
at FU Berlin, in a room (tba) with nice blackboards.
At noon we all walk to the Harnack-Haus for lunch.
We then stay there for the rest of the day.
Lunch, afternoon coffee and a BBQ dinner on Friday
are provided at the Harnack-Haus.
Participants from outside Berlin may request
accomodation at the Harnack-Haus.
Grading: Students who wish to receive a Schein
are expected to solve exercises from the textbook.
present at least one of their solutions
to the class during the weekend,
and the others in writing (by June 30).
