Tenure-track applicants are expected to have demonstrated outstanding research potential, normally including major contributions beyond the doctoral dissertation. Charles B. Morrey Jr. Assistant Professorship

We invite applications for these special (non tenure-track) positions effective July 1, 2012. The term of this appointment is for three years. Applicants should have a recent Ph.D., or the equivalent, in an area of pure or applied mathematics. Duties require teaching 3 courses per year, usually at the upper division and graduate level. The annual salary is $60,000.

Visiting Assistant Professor Position

We invite applications for non-tenure-track positions effective July 1, 2012. Applicants should have a recent Ph.D., or the equivalent, in pure mathematics. These positions are partially supported by two NSF Research Training Group grants, each of which can support one candidate. In the first grant, preference will be given to the areas of combinatorics, geometry and representation theory, and in the second to the areas of geometry, topology and operator algebras. The NSF requires that applicants be citizens, nationals or permanent residents of the United States, its territories or possessions. The term of these appointments is three years. They have a reduced teaching load of one course per semester. The annual salary is $55,000, with an additional stipend of $10,000 in each of the first two years for summer research.
