Yael Degany's Site

Welcome to my site. I am a graduate student in the Math Department at UC Berkeley.

My mathematical interests are varied. They include objects that can be viewed in different ways, ones that sit in major junctions of the mathematical landscape and offer entry ways and vantage points into different areas in math. Among these objects are Lie groups.

I like asking questions, hearing new things, simple and beautiful mathematical objects, such as the Riemann Sphere, and powerful analogies that work in a wide context, such as polar coordinates.

In the past year I started working with Katrin Wehrheim, my new thesis advisor, on the beautiful area of field theories that arise from gauge theory.
