Mission

The UC Berkeley Student Chapter of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics was founded to promote community and recognition among the various individuals and groups involved in applied mathematics at Berkeley, as well as providing resources to help those groups and individuals use applied mathematics to serve the community.

The chapter is open to students in Math, CS, Engineering, Physics, and any of the many other fields that incorporate some aspect of applied mathematics. We welcome both graduate and undergraduate students, as well as participation from professors and post-docs.

History

The UCB student chapter is quite young having been founded in fall 2012. We're still finding our feet and we welcome suggestions on ways we can improve. If you're interested in taking a leadership position or helping with a specific event (or you have a new event we should get involved in) we'd love to hear from you.
