Vertical lines separate: the column of the base face, paired prefix keys with “inverted bindings”, and explicitly selected multi-key prefixes. Horizontal lines separate key rows of the keyboard (including a fake row with the “left extra key” [one with <> or \| - it is missing on many keyboards] and the KP_Decimal key [often marked as . Del on numeric keypad]); the last group is for semi-fake keys for Enter/C-Enter/Backspace/C-Backspace/Tab and C-Break/[/]/\/^/_ (make sense after prefix keys) and special keys explicitly added in .kbdd files (usually SPACE). Most of Ctrl-letters are omitted from the table; deduce them from reports for C/H/I/J/M/Z.
