``K-theory and Cohomology Theories''

We offer a brief introduction to the evolution
of algebraic and topological K-theory, and we discuss
relationships between these K-theories and various cohomology
theories. We then proceed to discuss work in progress with Mark
Walker which involves the development of "semi-topological
K-theory", a theory intermediate between algebraic and topological
K-theory. The goal is to produce a theory relevant to algebraic
geometry which arises in the more accessible context of algebraic
topology.
