Important Information

20% of your grade in 1A is based on discussion sections, and of that 20%, Homework is due, and quizzes will take place, every Friday by default. I will not accept late homework or offer make-up quizzes, but your lowest two quiz scores will be dropped. Cheating is heavily frowned upon: anyone caught cheating on a quiz will receive a zero for the quiz at a minimum. (Keep in mind that although homework will not be graded, your quizzes will be closely modeled on your homework, so doing your homework is a good way to make sure you perform well on the quizzes.)

Most questions should be directed to Piazza and not to my email. If you have a question, it's likely that other students have similar questions, so it saves time to answer questions all at once on Piazza rather than separately in private emails. Piazza also supports LaTeX, which makes it convenient to typeset mathematics there. Email should be reserved for things like scheduling time to meet if you can't make office hours.

For administrative / enrollment issues, e.g. changing sections, talk to Thomas Brown in 965 Evans.
