In case you're in the college of Letters and Sciences and need some breadth classes to take, here are some cool suggestions! Of course, this also applies to the humanities requirement for the other colleges!

Arts and Literature

L&S C180T / German C109 "Language and Power" This is the most AMAZING class I've ever taken, including all the math classes! Prof. Kramsch is incredibly passionate and entertaining and up-to-date! The class is basically about how Language gives you power to control other people! Also an easy A, but not because it's an easy class, but because you'll be so motivated to do well!

Biological Sciences

Nutri Sci 10 "Introduction to Human Nutrition" This class is basically about what you should eat and what you shouldn't eat! There are some technical details, but most of the class is common sense you'll even use later on in real life (e.g. Is whole wheat bread better than white bread?) Also, the class is taught by two different professors, so make sure you'll take it with at least one good professor (I heard Prof. Amy is good, and one of the profs I took it with was Prof. Fleming, who was absolutely amazing!)

Physical Sciences

Astro C10 "Introduction to General Astronomy" This is the most famous class taught at UC Berkeley, and it truly is amazing. Prof. Filippenko is both entertaining and AMAZING at explaining things! He explains it in such a way that even the hardest concept becomes like a breeze! And, literally, he'll take you until the end of the universe!

Social & Behavioral Sciences

L&S C180T / German C109 "Language and Power" See description above!

Econ 1 "Introduction to Economics" Some people really like this class, others don't. I loved it when I took it (I actually took Econ 2, which is even better, but it's rarely offered). It basically tells you about how to make rational decisions while spending money (well, economics! :) ). It covers both Micro- and Macroeconomics in 1 semester Warning: This class might be a bit competitive!

Historical Sciences

History 7B "The United States - From the Civil War to the Present" When I took it, it wasn't that great, but I heard Prof. Einhorn is extremely clear and well-organized! And apparently this class is easy once you took US History in High School. Prepare to read a lot of books.
NOTE: This course satisfies both the History Breadth, and the American Cultures requirement, AND the American History requirement (for international students) So it's really like catching 3 flies with one stone! (this is why I took it anyways :P)

Philosophy and Values

Math 135 "Set Theory" Yeah, sorry, I don't know any other good philosophy breadth! :P It's still an amazing class, you basically construct mathematics from scratch! In particular, you construct the integers, rational numbers, and real numbers. You also learn the axiom of choice, which can lead to very weird things! (e.g. starting from a sphere you can DUPLICATE it!!!)

International Studies

What I did was to study abroad! It was a nice way to visit another country, and to take a break from Berkeley classes! (usually, only the units, not the grades will transfer!). If you don't have the time, take a language class! Even though it's 5 units, it is really chill! The only hard part is having class every day, but the actual homework is not bad! Beware of Chinese 1AB or Japanese 1AB , I heard they're very hard! Take Persian 1AB if you want to make me happy :)

Other requirements:

Reading and Composition

Scandinavian R5A/R5B There is a rumor that this is the easiest R&C class, and all of my friends who took it confirmed it! Apparently an easy A, and all you do is reading fairytales and commenting on them! Sounds like fun! Be sure to "Telebears Phase-1" this! It gets full very quickly

American Cultures

History 7B Again, might be a lot of work, but satisfies 3 requirements at once (see above)

Music 26AC "Music in American Culture" People told me that this was the easiest AC class to take, apparently all you do is listen to songs!

Humanities requirement for engineers

Again, L&S C180T / German C109 "Language and Power" is a great humanities class!

'Double-feature' requirement for engineers

And in case you're an engineer and need to take both a lower-division and an upper-division humanities class, I'd suggest Econ 1 and Econ 100A or 100B or 101A . This is a very popular choice, because Econ 100A/100B/101A are basically the same as Econ 1, but in a little bit more depth!

Or you could combine a German language class German 1,2,3,4,5, or German R5A/R5B with German C109
