(famed for SFFT)
about some of his favorite factoring tricks.

options. Planned activities include:
-
Simon: "I'll talk about take-away games. These are games with piles of stones, where on a move a player is allowed to remove some of the stones from a pile subject to certain constraints. I'll begin by discussing the classic game of Fibonacci Nim, where players are allowed to remove up to twice as many stones as the previous player, and then I'll discuss some of my own work with various collaborators, including a surprising theorem about the stability of a certain class of take-away games."
-
Power Question seminar: Come up with extensions to the 2019 ARML Power Question!
-
Beginner's Room
-
Estimathon
-
May 31 only, 5pm-7pm Pacific time
-
No practice on Saturday May 30 due to the FARML competition.
See the competitions section above.
-
On Sunday, we plan to have a FARML Math Jam (discussing problems
from this year's contest), and fun activities including Kahoot and
an integration bee. Join us for some fun math!
-
Note: This was originally advertised as a wrap-up practice with a
team meeting, but we realized that it doesn't make any sense to have
a wrap-up before we know the results of ARML Local. So we'll do some
more math and hold one more session the following week.
-
NEW: June 7 only, 5pm-7pm Pacific time
-
No meeting on Saturday; good luck on AOIME.
-
On Sunday, we'll have a season wrap-up practice and celebration.
We'll have a song contest showcase,
a final team meeting and presentation of ARML Local results, an
Estimathon,
and some math games. See you there!
