Recent applications of Kulkarni's conformal boundary
This talk is about conformal geometry on Lorentzian surfaces. We work with indefinite metric analogs of Riemann surfaces, exploiting properties of Kulkarni's conformal boundary, to obtain results in-the-large for timelike surfaces in Minkowski 3-space, and characterizations of causality conditions on simply connected, 2-dimensional space-times.
