Math 113 (Introduction to Abstract Algebra)

Course structure

  • We will have in-person lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-6:30 PM in Social Sciences Building, room 136.
  • Homework will be posted below weekly. Homework should be turned in on bCourses. You can either upload a pdf, a scan, or pictures of your homework.
  • We will have two midterm exams and one final exam. They will be posted below. Each will be take-home format. You will have one week to complete each exam. They are open book and open notes.


Office hours

  • The GSI for Math 113 is Max Wimberley. They will be holding office hours every weekday from 11am-1pm in 1047 Evans.
  • On the following days, the GSI office hours will be held remotely via Zoom:
    • Wednesday, August 25th through Friday, August 27th
    • Friday, September 3rd
    • Tuesday, September 7th through Friday, September 10th

  • Note: GSI office hours will not be held on 9/2, 10/1, and 10/4.
  • I will hold office hours Mondays and Thursdays from 2-3PM in Evans 847.
