Also, we have received some questions about whether the DRP will be running this semester, even with classes being held remotely. We do intend to continue the program as normal, but we expect that students and mentors will meet by Zoom (or some other video calling software). We believe the DRP is a helpful resource for undergraduates to get connected to upper-level mathematics and the people who study it, and this type of connection is perhaps even more important in a time where we aren’t connecting in-person within the department and in our classes.

While having our projects online may introduce extra challenges, we are committed to doing whatever we can to help all our participants have a fun and successful semester. We are currently preparing some guidelines for how to successfully do a DRP project remotely, so check back here for more details later!
