Prerequisites: 53 and 54; Math 104 (real analysis) is strongly recommended

Description:  This course is an introduction to partial differential equations. It covers elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic equations, initial and boundary value problems, Fourier transform, distributions, nonlinear first order equations

Required Text: Evans, Introduction to Partial Differential Equations, second edition (the course covers roughly Part 1 of the book.

Recommended Reading: Strichartz, A Guide to Distribution Theory and Fourier Transforms (or any other equivalent book)

Grading: Homework, Midterm and Final Exam

Homework: Assigned weekly
