Additional Information: 

Prerequisites: Elementary probability, linear algebra, and complex analysis.

Syllabus: We will study recent applications of the theory of real stable and hyperbolic polynomials to questions in graph theory, discrepancy theory, probability, random matrices, and optimization. Each student will be expected to give one presentation and/or scribe one lecture.

Note that we will meet in 736 Evans Hall (not 65 Evans as written above).
