Prerequisites: 1B.

Syllabus: Basic linear algebra; matrix arithmetic and determinants. Vector spaces and linear transformations. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Inner products, Projections and Least squares. Homogeneous ordinary differential equations; first-order differential equations with constant coefficients. Fourier series and partial differential equations.

Required Text: Lay, Linear Algebra, 4th Ed; Nagel, Saff&Snider, Differential Equations, 8th Ed. Combined into one Custom Berkeley volume

Homework: Due in section twice every week, M and F.
