Additional Information: 

Prerequisites: Basic algebraic and differential topology (214, 215a) is essential. Familiarity with more algebraic topology (215b) and symplectic geometry (242) is helpful. Background material will be reviewed as needed depending on the audience.

Syllabus: The goal of this course is to introduce different kinds of contact homology and their applications to distinguishing contact manifolds, obstructing symplectic cobordisms and symplectic embeddings, and the Weinstein conjecture and generalizations. The beginning of the course will review necessary background on Morse theory and holomorphic curves.
