Summer classes have a quick pace. In math, and calculus in particular, later material relies heavily on past and recent-past material. As such, I implore you to stay on top of the course. Falling behind even a little bit can lead to a lot of bad.

Assigned Homework Problems

Homework Assignments

Homework Assignments will be due in class on every Monday and Wednesday. There will be a reader, and the homeworks will be graded. I will not be accepting late homeworks, though you can always turn them in early either to my office in 714 Evans (just slide it under the door), or in person. As on all other graded work, you are required to show your work to receive credit.

Quizzes
There will be short in-class quizzes on every Tuesday and Thursday excluding the first two tuesdays (see calendar) for full details. That leaves 11 quizzes. Your lowest quiz score will be dropped.

Exams
There will be two in class exams (on June 20th and August 3rd) and one in class Final (August 17th). If you miss an exam without a valid documented reason, you will receive a 0 for that exam. Missing the final will result in getting an automatic failure. Please don't do that.

Grading

The cumulative grade will be computed from your Homework grade, your Quiz grade, and your Exam grade.
The grade breakdown will be:
10% Homework
20% Quizzes
20% Exam 1
20% Exam 2
30% Final

DSP Students
Please speak to me as soon as possible regarding any accommodations that need to be made.

Collaboration
You are encouraged to work together with other students on the homework, but the work you turn in must be your own. Copying another student’s work is not permitted. Copying or any form of collaboration on quizzes or exams will not be tolerated. If you are caught, you will receive an F for the course.
