Course policies:

Attendance:
You are required to attend every discussion section for this course as well as the lecture. The PDP section for Math 53 has 4 hours of discussion per week instead of 3 as the other Math 53 discussion sections have. This section will provide you with more practice and experience solving math problems and expressing your solutions both verbally and written through group work, but unlike other sections, attendance here is mandatory.

Quizzes:
There will be quizzes given on Thursdays, about 15 minutes long covering material from the Homeworks you have turned in on the given Thursday and the previous Tuesday. The quizzes will graded out of 10 points. For instance, the first quiz on September 2 will be on material from the August 27 and August 30 lectures. The quiz n September 9 will be on material from the September 1, September 3 and September 8 lectures.

Homework
There are homework assignments from each lecture that are due for the course; assignments can be found at on the course syllabus. The homework will be graded pass/fail, but the UGA will also provide you with comments on it so that you have an idea of how you are doing. Homework for Fridday and Monday lectures will be due the following Thursday in discussion section, and the homework for Wednesday lecture will be due the following Tuesday.
