Information on Lab accounts and access.
You will now be able to access Windows computers
running Matlab at the basement computer lab in
Evans Hall ((EMF) B3 Evans Basement). The login and
password will be distributed in class or you can get
them from me or TA. The following times are reserved primarily for
our class, so you have priority in using the computers in the lab:
Monday 6-7pm, Thursday 7-8pm and joint with 128A 6-7pm.
While other time in the lab is reserved by other sections if
computers are available during those hours you can use them. However,
you should not disturb the section taking place in the lab at that time.
Lab Hours are posted at
here (IST lab hours)
In addition, remote access UNIX accounts are available. If you need
one you can get it from me.
If you have a computer at home you might also want to
consider a possibility of buying Matlab or using a Matlab clone. Although
the latter option might be somewhat difficult to implement and use
Matlab clones are free software packages which are very
similar to Matlab except for few syntax differences.
SciLab, in particular, has all of the Matlab
capabilities that you need. Here are links to
SciLab
and
other clones.
Let me or TA know if you need any help with
getting access to computers and software.
