Research

I am a postdoc at the Max-Planck-Institut für Mathematik in Bonn, Germany. I completed my Ph.D. at UC Berkeley in May 2014 under the supervision of Vaughan Jones. My research interests include conformal field theory, vertex operator algebras, subfactors and planar algebras. In particular, I am interested in the relationship between different axiomatizations of 2 dimensional chiral conformal field theories, as well as related analytic questions. My dissertation project involved constructing geometric conformal field theories (in the sense of Segal), and relating them to vertex operator algebras. For an outline of the free fermion, see notes from a short talk at ECOAS 2013. For more detail, see my research statement.
