Math 54. Linear Algebra and Differential Equations.

Textbooks: Hill's "Elementary Linear Algebra" (3rd edition); and Boyce & DiPrima's "Elementary Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems" (8th edition)

Grading: Grading will be based on four exams, homework, and class participation according to the following insanely complicated scheme:

More on the exams: They'll be an hour long each and take place in class on Fridays...July 7, July 21, August 4, August 18. They're mandatory! If you know you can't make one of those days, you should look into switching to another section of the class. Also, the exams will be cumulative, though naturally with an emphasis on more recent material.

More on homework: Homework will be assigned daily and posted online here. The readings should be considered part of the homework, and if I find that people are really not keeping up with the reading, I reserve the right to enact cruel draconian measures to counteract that trend.
