About Me
I am a fourth year mathematics PhD and Masters candidate at UC Berkeley, working under
Bernd Sturmfels. I advanced to
PhD candidacy in May 2016, and I will receive my masters degree in May 2018.
I completed my undergraduate education at Wellesley College. Before beginning my
graduate degree, I spent two years at MIT Lincoln Laboratory working primarily on
data science projects.
When not doing math, I can usually be found biking, climbing, or playing
board games.
Research Interests
I am interested in the intersection of mathematics and computer science, and my masters
thesis is in combinatorics and algebraic geometry. With the help of mathematical
computing software, I study the singular loci of Schur hypersurfaces.
