Worksheets

We will occasionally use the Math 54 worksheets for group work in class. This means you only need one copy of the worksheets per group of three to four people. The worksheets can be obtained from Copy Central on Bancroft, just west of Bowditch. Please try to have a copy of the worksheets by Friday, January 26.

Grading

Your discussion section grade will be computed as follows:

50% Homework
50% Quizzes

Homework assignments are posted on Professor Kirby's web page and due in section every Monday. There will be a quiz near the end of class every Wednesday, except February 14, February 21, March 21, and May 2. Also, there will be a quiz on Friday, April 6 instead of Wednesday, April 4. Each homework assignment is graded on a pass/fail basis for completeness, but each quiz will be graded for correctness out of 5 or 6 points. Your lowest three homework grades and lowest three quiz grades will be dropped. There will be no make-up quizzes, and late homework generally will not be accepted.

This discussion section grade will be used to adjust the letter grade computed from your exam scores as described on Professor Kirby's web page.
