Grading: Homework 1/8, first midterm 1/8, second midterm 1/4, final 1/2.

- First lecture: January 19, 2010.
- First midterm: February 11, 2010.
- Last day for dropping classes: February 19, 2010.
- Second midterm: March 18, 2010.
- Spring recess: March 22-26, 2010.
- Last lecture: April 29, 2010.
- Final exam: May 14, 2010.
Make-up policy:
- There will be no make-up exams. If you miss a midterm, your final exam grade will be used as your grade for that midterm.
- If you miss the final exam, your final exam grade will be zero.
Homework policy:
- Weekly homework will be posted to this page every Thursday. You will hand in your homework at the end of the following Thursday lecture. Late homework will not be accepted. There will be no exceptions. However, the lowest three of your homework grades will be dropped.
- The problems will often be chosen from Stroock. Try to do them first without referring to the solutions at the back of the book. If you get stuck, you may look at the solutions to get the main idea. In any case, do not merely copy Stroock's solutions. The purpose of the homework is to give you practice. You won't benefit from it if you fake it. Also, Stroock's solutions are usually brief, whereas you are expected to turn in full and rigorous solutions.

- Due Mar 4: (from Stroock) 3.2.16, 3.2.17, 3.2.18.
- Due Mar 11: (from Stroock) 3.3.16, 3.3.17, 3.3.24.
- Due Apr 1: (from Stroock) 3.3.19, 3.3.20, 3.4.12, 4.1.8, 4.1.12. This will be counted as two homework sets.
