Grading: First midterm 15%, second midterm 25%, final exam 45%, homework 15%.

- First lecture: August 27, 2009.
- First midterm: September 17, 2009.
- Last day for dropping classes: September 25, 2009.
- Second midterm: October 29, 2009.
- Thanksgiving: November 26, 2009. (There will be no lecture.)
- Last lecture: December 3, 2009.
- Final exam: December 15, 2009.
Make-up policy:
- There will be no make-up exams.
- If you miss a midterm, your final exam grade will be used as your grade for that midterm.
- If you miss the final exam, your final exam grade will be zero.
Homework policy:
- Weekly homework will be assigned at the end of every Tuesday lecture.
- You will hand in your homework at the end of the following Tuesday lecture.
- Late homework will not be accepted. There will be no exceptions.
- The lowest three of your homework grades will be dropped.
Academic honesty:
- You may discuss the homework problems with each other. However, you should not simply copy each other's solutions.
- If you are caught cheating on an exam, your grade for that exam will be zero.
- If you are caught cheating more than once during the semester, your letter grade for the course will be F.
