In these notes we discuss the canonical anticommutation 
relations, the C*-algebra associated with them (the CAR algebra), 
Fermionic second quantization, and the construction of KMS states 
for so-called free Fermi gasses.  We only scratch the surface, 
but references are given for further study.  

These are unpolished notes supplementing one or two of the 
lectures given during a course on C*-algebras during the 
fall of 1998, and are offered "as is".
