THREE CLUSTERED ELECTIVES
Applied Math majors, with signed approval by their faculty advisors, select a minimum of three upper-division elective courses to form a coherent cluster in an applied area. Courses in other departments may count toward this requirement provided they have substantial mathematical content at an appropriately advanced level.
Sample clusters with suggested courses are listed below. Not all faculty advisors will accept every course on this list, though it does reflect the general consensus. Before any class may be used as a major elective, the student must obtain their faculty advisor's signed approval on the Course Approval Form and return it to 965 Evans for their student file.
